Continuing the countdown to ICE Fighting Championship 4, on Saturday 8th November, two more match up’s have been announced to the ever growing card.
First announced is a match up between Ben Singleton and the unbeaten Ben Gratton.
Singleton comes into this match up on the back on two fights earlier this year which saw him go 1-1. At FCC 10 he took on and defeated Aaron Dwyer via first round TKO, and then followed this up at ICE FC 3 when he was involved in one of the fights of the night against Jay Moogan. It was a back and forth match up which ended up with Moogan taking the split decision.
I had the chance to speak with Singleton, who trains out of Blackburn Predators, about the loss and he said:
“I did think I was very much active enough to win, but after falling into guillotine a number of times I did have a gut feeling I had lost”
So he will be raring to get back inside the ICE cage and get back to winning ways, in particular after having his opponent pull out on him, at the last minute, before the recent Caged Predators 1 card.
His opponent Ben Gratton will come into this fight undefeated at 1-0 and will make his return to competitive action after more than a year and a half away.
The last time fans saw him in competitive action was at FCC 5, in March 2013, when he took on and defeated Nick Grady via unanimous decision. In the fight Gratton look calm and composed, showcasing a huge array of all round martial arts skills.
He trains out of the FCPC team, under the tutelage of Martin Stapleton, and we can be sure he will be an even better competitor than the last time we saw him and he will be ready for whatever Singleton will throw at him.
Also added is a Flyweight contest between Nikko Alonzo and Abdul Chowdrey.
Nikko Alonzo returns to the cage for the first time since making his debut in November 2013. That night he took on Aiden Lee at Fight UK MMA and lost via first round technical submission.
Training out of Archer MMA, Alonzo will have been sharpening his skills waiting for the right match up and he will be ready to enter the ICE cage to showcase his talent.
He will meet SBG Mainline’s Abdul Chowdrey, who will be making his MMA debut on the night and there is no better show to do it on than ICE.
SBG mainline is one of the worlds finest Mixed Martial Arts gyms and under the tutelage of Karl Tanswell you know that Chowdrey will be well versed and wont be an easy test.
The flyweights always steal the show and Alonzo and Chowdrey could possibly do that on November 8th.
