ICE FC 4 are presenting a bumper card on Saturday 8th November and it will feature two amateur championship fights which are worth the ticket money alone.

Firstly announced is an amateur women’s flyweight championship between two of the country’s brightest prospects in Becky Martin and Katy ‘Bam Bam’ Horlick.

Martin trains out of Blackledge MMA and has gone 2-0 since making her amateur debut earlier this year. That debut came on the FCC 9 card, in March, when she opened the show and steam rolled through Gemma Thomas in just 23 seconds via TKO.

She followed this up at Fightstar Championship 4 in September when she took on undefeated Chrissy Audin and made an even bigger statement, getting the TKO victory at 43 seconds, taking her total cage time in two fights to just one minute and six seconds.

Anyone who has seen those two fights will know how explosive and well rounded Martin is in the cage and if anyone deserved a chance to fight for the vacant belt, it is her.

However her opponent Katy Horlick also deserves that chance, especially after her performance on the ICE FC 3 card, when she took on and defeated the experienced Jemma Jacques, via second round TKO.

Nicknamed ‘Bam Bam’, Katy comes from a boxing background and can finish the fight at anytime.

Training under standout professional Azi Thomas, Horlick is one to be watched and don’t be surprised to see this one steal fight of the night honors and steal the show.

Also on the line is the vacant ICE lightweight championship as Tim Barnett and Aaron Johnson.

Barnett trains out of the MMA academy in Liverpool and comes into this fight on the back of two big victories competing under the BAMMA banner.

Firstly, in August, he competed on the Fight Night card in Liverpool when he took on and defeat Dion Wyton via TKO (submission to punches) in the first round of the match up.  He followed this up on the BAMMA 16 show in Manchester when he TKO’d Joe Naraynsingh, also in the first round.

His opponent Aaron Johnson trains out of Blackledge MMA and is also looking in good form coming into this match up.

The last two times I have Johnson he has dominated his opponents and showed why he deserves to be placed in this championship fight. Firstly in November at ACB 8, he defeated Will Cairns via first round TKO and then ICE FC fans will remember the second installment in March when he took to the cage and defeated Alan Hunt, also by first round TKO.

Both Barnett and Johnson are well rounded competitors and are comfortable wherever the fight goes, so this one will surely be a close encounter and could down to the wire on the night.
